It’s World Tourism Day on 27th September 2024
The main event for the first time since it’s foundation in 1980 is being held in Tbilisi, Georgia under the auspices of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). The theme for this year is “Tourism and Peace.” The day will feature high profile discussions with government officials, international organization representatives, and tourism industry leaders focusing on global tourism trends and the role of peace in fostering sustainable development.
Ethical business people and traders have for thousands of years fostered important international ties and have even helped diffuse political tensions. The new age of business travellers need to be more mindful of the geopolitical events , not just for their own safety , but also to be aware of how they can make a positive impact (albeit small) in addition to growing their own business revenue internationally. TBA’s Travel Business Assistants and Transaction Focus country leads will orientate you with every aspect of the business journey and will pre-brief you on economic, historical, business, cultural and linguistic needs so that you are well armed before you travel.
International media outlets such as Forbes, Bloomberg Travel, and Euronews Travel are attending to cover the event and explore key tourist destinations in Georgia. This important gathering also aims to highlight Georgia’s rising importance as a tourist destination, showcasing its blend of history, culture, and gastronomy.
TFocus Tourism has previously tried to arrange rugby tours to Georgia after the Rugby World Cup alongside the Guild of Travel and Tourism; unfortunately Covid-19 intervened.
MICE and Sports events help build trust and generate business opportunities.
World Tourism Day has previously highlighted important global issues, such as Energy, Accessibility, World Heritage, Water and Tourism, Sustainable Tourism, Inclusivity and Tourism and Technology.
Sadly tensions in the Middle East and the Ukraine War has forced “Peace” to the top of the agenda.

TBA will always continue to assist Small and medium businesses to expand into new territories safely and happily despite geopolitical tensions, as this is what we do.
Ambitious, entrepreneurial small and medium business people we serve are resilient and forge long term, meaningful business and friendship alliances. At Travel Business Assistance (TBA) we help them start the process which begins with pre-travel planning and includes every aspect from hotel, flights, insurance, medivac, FX, Airport pick up, eSIM connectivity, and ultimately ensures positive travel outcomes.
Our Transaction Focus and Truedil TM teams then help our customers realise business objectives; this can involve finding and closing sales contracts, searching for “right fit” distributors or joint venture partners and even involve finding companies to acquire. M&A due diligence is sometimes part of the mix.
Most importantly, we are all mindful human beings who need to promote trusting friendships and champion peace.
We adhere to the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce’s guiding principle :
“FRIENDSHIP THROUGH TRADE”
